Ricky has been performing in acclaimed Vegas acts as a singer/musician for over 30 years. Music is a powerful healer and as long as he can remember, Ricky has been a healer at heart. “It was only a couple of years ago that I officially stepped into the role of a teacher or healer, however. There was something in me that always said ‘You’re not good enough to be a teacher.’ Any teacher knows that voice and that was a turning point for me when I realized that most of what I have done in my life was with the intent of healing. Who am I fooling? Oh, ME!”. Even s a child I resonated deeply with the idea of Eastern Philosophy, yoga and meditation. It was as if (and it’s likely the truth) I had past lives as a student/teacher in the East. Student/teacher and teacher/student are, for me, one and the same”.
Ricky has been teaching meditation since 1992 when a while after finding the one he would call his teacher for two decades. For almost 20 years, he was the North American leader for that organization which was heavily involved in matters of Human Rights, Religious Rights, etc. even building a hospital in Africa for women who have been subjected to the trauma of Female Genital Mutilation.
Starting a Bikram yoga practice in 2008, he fell in love with vinyasa a few months later. Having a dedicated practice for 6 years, he trained with Zeek Vincent and is a Z-Flow graduate as well as other CE certifications.
“I am, first and foremost a student.”
